here is my favorite set.  an RCA AR88LF.  These were built in Montreal, Quebec for shipping to our allies during WWII.  Most were shipped to the UK, some went to Russia and others to France.  This set was pulled from a decomissioned airport near here.  I gave the set a complete ground up tear down and re-build.  Parts are getting very hard to locate for this set these days.  The audio output transformer for example came from a fella in the North West Territories.  I don't have a photo of it's present state but there is one included as an "after" example.  This is a very sensitive radio and excellent at picking up signals from around the world.  More on the RCA AR88 series receivers can be found here:
