Please note:  Real world commitments force postponement of our normal #readers_corner chat on August 2nd.  We will resume on August 9th.

Please join us at 8:30 P.M. (EDST) on August 9th, 2014 (0030 August 10th (GMT), in #readers_corner, for a discussion of the short story Pea Green Boat  by William R. Burkett, Jr.   The story appeared in the Saturday Evening Post (March 2010) .  It's available on line at:  http://www.saturdayeveningpost.com/2010/03/01/post-fiction/classic-fiction/pea-green-boat-william-burkett.html

When I was young my mother used to sing a nonsense song about the Owl and the Pussycat who sailed the sea in a beautiful pea green boat.  The title of this story grabbed my attention and brought back fond memories of childhood; the short story, however, is not about an owl or a pussycat, nor is it a nonsense song.  I think we will have lots of fun discussing it.
