This first pic is my eldest daughter circa 1998 ish on the most wonderful Belgium Draft named Ziggy. He was a gentle 2 ton giant who she taught to jump. I can't begin to express what he taught her ...

We lost him unfortunately in 2005 to an intestinal twist. He was rushed to one of the most renowned Equine facilities, and while surgery initially seemed successful, he died tragically in my daughters arms a few days after.

We were fortunate to own and love him from 1995 to 2005. RIP Ziggy.

This guy is a Hanovarian named Dewey (Much Ado) who we bought in 1997 and my eldest became involved in showing for several years (then stopped because of boys). Many memories of green hunter events and happy days. We still have old Dewey and my daughter still gets him over jumps occasionally but no longer shows. (She lives in NY and Dewey is still in Va). He's a great guy and missed his buddy Ziggy for quite awhile but has a lot of new friends at the barn where we board him now.

This pic is from May 2007

Here's a pic of my daughter (on the right) ready to compete in the showjumping phase of a 3DE a few years ago. Her horse, Stormboy (we called him Stormie) is a Selle Francais (French warmblood). We obtained him as a 2yr old and broke him in and trained him for dressage and 3DE. He did very well in competition and loved being in the arena. Stormie is still alive but quite old now and retired to a friend's plantation in Vanuatu, where we were living at the time. My daughter still rides when she gets time and is hopeful of resuming her dressage career with the help of her instructor here in Australia, once she gets time.
