MATERIALS:

  • Milk
  • Jar
  • Vinegar
  • Strainer
  • Paper Towels
  • Baking Soda
  • Small Pan
  • Measuring Spoons
  • Water
  • Spoon

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Pour 8 oz of milk into pan
  2. Heat milk on stove at 250 degrees F (120 C). Let it warm, but not boil!
  3. Add 1 TBS of vinegar and stir mixture. Continue stirring even when clumps begin to form
  4. Place strainer over jar and pour mixture through the strainer. You may want to use a spoon to help the liquid through
  5. Put remaining material in the strainer back in the pan
  6. Add 1/2 cup of water and a tablespoon of baking soda
  7. A casein material will begin to bubble. When this stops, use the leftover liquid as glue
  8. Reply with your results!

lol this would be a fun project for a young person (maybe age 8-10 and, of course, with adult supervision).

Hey, what do you know, my grandkids are about to go on Christmas break.

I might try this with them :)
