How to prevent sending extra MS data to a chat room with MS Chat 2.5

MS Chat 2.5 can be very annoying to other people in the chat room because it sends a lot of extra data with each line of text. Here is an example of a MS Chat 2.5 user (in comic mode), joining a room and talking:

<Guest60247> # Appears as ANNA

<Guest60247> (#G010E010M1) testing

As you can imagine, people not using MS Chat 2.5 will find that very annoying. However, you can easily prevent that extra stuff from being sent to the room, while continuing to use MS Chat 2.5 in comic or text mode.

Click View, then Options.

From the Options dialog, select the Settings tab.

Make sure that the following options is checked (selected):

Don't send Microsoft Chat specific info.
